Balsandra, born at Paul Schockemöhle under the name Gwenouet, competed at 1.50 m level under Maria Madenova and was praised for her exceptional attitude. In breeding she was at least as successful, as Balsandra is also the dam of, among others, Calouso 2, who excelled at 1.60 m level under Eiken Sato.
Balsandra’s foals are in strong demand on the market. In 2024, a son of Chardonnay 79 was sold for €80,000, and in 2025 a Chacco Blue for €30,000, both at the Zangersheide Quality Auction.
