Santa-Maria is a daughter of Pegase van 't Ruytershof, a sire who has increasingly come into the spotlight in recent years as a producer of exceptionally talented, commercial, and highly desirable sport horses.
Her dam, Gilana Maria, is a daughter of Calido I and descends from an outstanding damline featuring dozens of black-type horses. Many of them have competed successfully at 1.50m level and above, including Francis 146 under Harry Allen and Kameroen EB Z under Leonie Peeters.
