Expert opinion:
For the very first time, a clone of one of the world’s best showjumping horses is being sold through an auction. 365 Auctions by Zangersheide is selling the 10-year-old As Cold as Ice Alpha Z, the clone of the legendary As Cold as Ice Z.
As Cold as Ice Z herself, ridden by Judy Ann Melchior, won, among other things, the Nations Cups of Lisbon, Hickstead, and Barcelona. In 2016, the duo was the best Belgian combination in the extremely challenging Grand Prix of Aachen.
The dam line of As Cold as Ice Z is also impressive. The mare herself has already produced the 1.60m horse Antartica Z; her dam, Cold as Ice Z, competed at 1.60 level and is the dam of three blacktype horses.
